    Silver - 15 minutes phone call

    A Silver Mobi-GP Phone Consultation, for a single clinical issue, includes

    • a full discussion of the issue and any relevant background
    • use, as appropriate, of clinical photographs shared online
    • providing advice and necessary treatment, such as a prescription

    Gold - 30 minutes home visit

    A Gold Mobi-GP Consultation, for a single clinical issue, includes 

    • a full discussion of the issue and any relevant background
    • performing a clinical examination of the relevant body system
    • doing any relevant 'bedside' tests
    • providing advice and necessary treatment, such as a prescription
    • a follow-up phone call

    Platinum - 60 minutes home visit

    A Platinum Mobi-GP Consultation, for more complex issues, includes

    • a full discussion of the issue and any relevant background
    • performing a comprehensive clinical examination
    • doing any relevant 'bedside' tests
    • referral for any necessary investigations and/or specialist treatment
    • providing advice and necessary treatment, such as a prescription

    Mobi-GP is currently only able to offer consultations to those living in the OX10, OX11, OX12, OX13 and OX14 postcode areas (Wantage, Grove, Didcot, Wallingford, Abingdon and the surrounding area). We hope to expand the area served in the coming months.


    Both Platinum and Gold Mobi-GP consultations include time to discuss a medical issue and any relevant background, perform a physical examination and any relevant ‘bedside’ tests, and provide advice and appropriate treatment (for example a prescription, if relevant). A Platinum Mobi-GP consultation includes additional time for more complex issues and the option of referral for ‘off site’ investigations and/or specialist treatment where appropriate, at no extra cost. A Silver (telephone) Mobi-GP Consultation includes time to discuss a medical issue and any relevant background, the use of clinical photographs shared online as appropriate, and provision of advice and appropriate treatment (for example a prescription, if relevant).


    Appointments are booked via the Mobi-GP.co.uk website. Required information for a booking is full name, full address (including postcode), date of birth, and NHS number. It is helpful to know in advance what clinical issue the consultation is to be about, but this is not essential. Once payment is made (via the website) the booking is secured.


    The Mobi-GP costs are simple and transparent; the fee for each type of consultation is all-inclusive and there are no added or hidden charges. Payment for the consultation is made in advance of the appointment and a receipt sent by email. See below for our refund policy.


    We have a flexible cancellation policy, because we understand that your health needs can change. If either you or Mobi-GP cancel your appointment 24 hours or more before the appointment time a full refund will be made. Mobi-GP will only cancel your appointment in exceptional circumstances, and will offer you an alternative. Unfortunately we are unable to provide a refund for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment time, other than in exceptional circumstances (at the discretion of Mobi-GP).


    If it turns out that the medical issue is more complex than can be dealt with over the phone and/or in the allotted time, and/or your Mobi-GP recommends a physical examination and/or referral for ‘off site’ investigations and/or specialist treatment, there are three main options you can choose, in consultation with your Mobi-GP doctor:

    1. You can opt for an additional Silver (phone call) Consultation in order to allow enough time to fully address the issue(s)
    2. As much as possible will be covered by your Mobi-GP under a Silver (telephone) Consultation, and an additional Gold or Platinum Consultation can be arranged for another time, with the payment already made for the Silver Consultation taken off the cost
    3. As much as possible will be covered under a Silver (telephone) Consultation, and the patient can arrange to see their own NHS GP or attend A&E for the recommended assessment/treatment, e.g. for a physical examination, and/or to discuss investigations and/or referral for specialist treatment as appropriate


    If it turns out that the medical issue is more complex and/or needs referral for ‘off site’ investigations and/or specialist treatment there are three main options you can choose:

    1. If there is time, the Gold Consultation can be converted to a Platinum Consultation, with payment of the difference in cost
    2. As much as possible will be covered by your Mobi-GP doctor under a Gold Consultation, and an additional Platinum Consultation can be arranged for another time
    3. As much as possible will be covered by your Mobi-GP doctor under a Gold Consultation, the patient can discuss investigations and/or referral for specialist treatment with their NHS GP


    If it turns out that the medical issue is straightforward does not need referral for ‘off site’ investigations and/or specialist treatment there is an option to convert a Platinum into two Gold Consultations (at no additional cost) in one of the following ways:

    1. The remaining time can be used to consider a different medical issue and/or perform health checks for the same individual
    2. If there is another household is member present, the remaining time can be used for a Gold Consultation for that individual

    Due to the ‘Double Deal’ pricing arrangement, two consecutive Gold Consultations at the same home is the same cost as one Platinum Consultation.


    The ‘Double Deal’ arrangement gives the option of two consecutive Gold or Platinum Consultations for two individuals who live at the same address for the price of one and a half (i.e. 50% off the second consultation). 'Double Deal' appointments can be arranged in advance, or straight after the first appointment if your Mobi-GP doctor has time to fit in the additional appointment. Mobi-GP will credit back to you 50% of the cost of the second consultation within 24 hours of the appointment.


    The Mobi-GP top priority is our patients’ health and wellbeing, and we are committed to working in partnership with our patients to gain a shared understanding of their health needs. Mobi-GP doctors are committed to practising evidence-based medicine, and work within strict ethical boundaries in the best interests of their patients. They therefore exercise their professional judgement to recommend investigations and treatment that meet these strict criteria. In many cases certain investigations and/or treatments will be appropriate, but at other times they will not.


    Your Mobi-GP doctor will discuss and agree with you whether you should be referred for ‘off site’ investigations and/or specialist treatment. Any recommended referrals are included with Platinum but not with Gold Consultations. Where these can be provided by the local NHS there is no additional charge to you. Where they are not provided by or do not meet the criteria for the local NHS, Mobi-GP patients have the option of a referral for private investigation and/or treatment (for which the private provider would make a charge, unless already covered by a health insurance policy)


    We are currently unable to organise ECGs or urine and stool laboratory tests directly, though we are looking into providing this in the near future. If any of these tests are recommended by your Mobi-GP doctor, we will try to help you to organise these through your NHS GP.


    Results and reports of any investigations requested by your Mobi-GP doctor will be sent to Mobi-GP and also copied to your NHS GP. Some come back within a few days but others may take longer. Your follow-up phone call with Mobi-GP is a good opportunity to review results and next steps, but they can also be discussed with your NHS GP.


    A follow-up phone call is included with Gold and Platinum Consultations, and will typically be scheduled for a week after the face-to-face consultation, but can be scheduled for sooner or later than this as appropriate.


    Mobi-GP strongly supports the NHS both in principle and practice, and all Mobi-GP doctors have long experience of working in the NHS. Services provided by Mobi-GP are designed to complement and also connect in with what the NHS is able to provide locally. We believe that Mobi-GP supports NHS GPs to care for their patients. We strongly advise the sharing of your Mobi-GP and NHS GP records for continuity of care purposes.


    Unfortunately not. Mobi-GP are currently unable to offer consultations to individuals who are not eligible for NHS care (and who do not, therefore, have an NHS number).


    Both Mobi-GP and NHS GP records use the same computer system that enables information about your medical history and treatment to be shared. We believe that this is the safest and best way to work, but this sharing of information can only be done with your permission, however.
